Karen Wesselmann

Born in 1972 in Prenzlau.

As a trained bank clerk and banking business economist, I gathered extensive and valuable experience in two large banks as a trainer, sales manager, and management trainer and consultant.

After a language stay in Bournemouth, England, I joined a Frankfurt-based consulting firm specializing in leadership and change in 2010. I gained diverse insights into various industries (telecommunications, IT, insurance, medical technology, biotechnology, electroplating). A key project was the support of executives, teams, and departments during a major bank merger in numerous formats.

In 2015, I decided to become self-employed and have since been working as a trainer, coach, and consultant. My central theme is leadership! It includes the topics of communication and change. For me, a successful executive is characterized by appreciative, clear communication at eye level, as well as a positive basic understanding of change and (digital) transformation.

My target groups are both experienced executives and individuals taking on a first leadership position. As a trainer, I design and conduct in-house seminars in presence as well as in digi-log formats; as a consultant, I steer and support teams in development processes. As a coach, I act as a guide and support executives in developing and “anchoring” (newly gained) perspectives as well as in decision-making and turning points.

My working method is based on high process competence, a systemic, resource- and solution-oriented attitude, industry-diverse experience, and is particularly characterized by appreciation, tolerance, curiosity, courage, empathy, authenticity, and life experience.

After a decade in the Ruhr area, I have lived in Cologne since 2001, and since 2008 with my family on the outskirts of the city. I enjoy being in nature, regularly indulge in the cultural offerings, like traveling/discovering new things, and follow my new passion for tennis. I spend my vacations by the sea or in the mountains.
